Amanda was a client who needed simple PR images. Just a person on white. Nothing more, nothing less. I like to think I gave her more than that, as she invited me to shoot her entire team at work after receiving the final images. That was a nice bonus bit of money.
We shot this in a shed at the bottom of someones garden in north London. The final results look pretty good considering.
I’m not sure what it is about her, but she has very kind, understanding eyes. Every time I got a tight portrait of her, it was like she was screaming at me through her eyes. That sounds intense but I mean it as a compliment. There are professional models who can’t do that. She seemed kind, like a mother hoping that I would do well.
I really liked Amanda, she invited me to watch Formula 1 with her family. I wish I had taken her up on the offer.
