I mean Gollum needs no introduction does he? Thats mean. Andy Serkis is more than one role.
I photographed Andy at the now defunct Wogan house on the 4th floor in the BBC 6 Music area. I was there demonstrating how to use a 3D screen, he seemed like the perfect subject. I shot a few frames of him that you see here against these now famous string lights. You can see his character come out straight away. He was more than happy to pose up and give me multiple options in a rather limited shoot space.
What I really wanted from him was a 3D portrait. Its a hard thing to explain to people usually. “Just sit still, a camera is going to move bah blah blah". But Andy took one look at the screen and said “Cool got it”
An have it he did.
We did two 3D frames and I thank him everyday for them. When you’re trying to sell 3D tech, having one of the most famous actors known for 3D motion capture really helps. Thanks Andy.
