Ayesia is the kinda of person I can’t stand next to. She looks too much like me and I can’t deal with it. Thats not her fault, she was a nice person with no bad qualities. I’m just not used to meeting people who look like me, its also weirder when they’re women.
This was a shoot I didn’t plan for and it shows.
There aren’t any props or though out lighting ideas, just a model and a photographer in a white room with some sunlight. I’ll admit I don’t have the best memory of this shoot, I think it was a last minute thing which would explain the lack of planning. I’d had this corduroy suit hanging in the studio since I liberated it from the Motel fashion cupboard years before, and she was the right person for it. It fit her perfectly and was just the right tones to bring out her hair and skin colour. Looking back at the pictures now, it feels like a safe advert for 90s Gap. Just straight up sunlight and model. No makeup, not flashy lighting. Sometimes keeping it simple works.
I hope she’s doing ok.
