elodie

Elodie. One of the best names of someone I’ve ever photographed. It almost sounds like a musical phrase.

My time with Elodie was one that was dictated by the styling I had picked out before I even knew who I was shooting. One warm Irish style jumper look, a cool red vintage American varsity jacket, and a bright yellow dress. The dress reminded me of something you’d find a character from Pokemon wearing, and she pulled it off perfectly.

I remember Elodie as a really sweet, quiet person. She lived in near me in Hackney at the time, so we had that to bond over. Although like a lot of these models, she was that generation younger than me. A fact made most clear when she struggled to remember those things before DVD’s. “ A VHS?” I offered, she laughed and nodded.

This is an example of a model working in each of the three looks I had for her. In the jumper she seemed like an Irish version of the girl next door, the varsity jacket suddenly placed her into a 80’s US high school setting. The bitchy cheerleader who knew how to use her looks to get what she wanted.

Finally the all yellow look, the perfect female Anime character.

I really liked this shoot. I had a lovely time with her. Rocio Gallardo did the makeup on this one and it really upped the levels.

Hope you caught them all Elodie.
