erin
Erin Doherty. A face you may recognise from such shows as “The Crown”. I met her on a shoot for a short film called “The Last Jeff’. A film with a wildly large amount of screen time given to an older mans penis. The tagline reads as follows..
“An estranged father and daughter are pulled back together by his extreme belief that he’s the last living person on earth”
It’s a 6 minute short film and the father character spends about 4 minutes of this totally naked. It was a one day shoot, the first time I saw somewhat serious money spent on a short film. But aside from the naked man, it was clear that Erin was a proper actress. I’d say it was my first time experiencing being close to a person who can act on cue. “Action!” Tears. “Cut!” Smiles. It’s very weird to see up close. This shoot came before I realised the importance of getting a clean portrait of talent, hence the very BTS feeling to these images.
I remember very shortly after this shoot she landed the role in The Crown, and that’s when I started seeing her face everywhere. On the tube, on a bus, on the internet. It was cool to think that I just spent a day with this person and now millions of people are seeing what I saw up close.
At the time of writing she’s still on the up, most recently in The National Theatre’s production of “The Crucible” which again was promoted heavily and sits with a healthy 8.1/10 on IMDB. Who know what I’ll see her in next, but I’m looking forward to crossing paths with her at some point in the future.
Maybe with less penis next time.
