Madison Bear. Another pop-star who I didn’t know about until I was booked to photograph her. But again, turns out she’s really famous. I truly think I’m getting old.

You can tell who Gen Z like by searching them on Instagram and seeing how many weird fan accounts there are. The ones that seem to continually trawl the internet for any new images or new of the celeb. I can always bank on a few likes and shares online from these accounts.

This was another 3D shoot so I was given a little more time to prep and light it. I went with somewhat classic and gentle lighting, two large umbrellas in a perfect 90 degree angle. Neither was hitting her directly, the one facing the back wall was properly 3ft camera left so just the edge of the light caught her. The other was about 1ft infront so the main beam missed her. It resulted in some beautifully soft lighting which seems to take an age to wrap around her before she disappears into the background.  I kinda wish she wasn’t wearing a black jacket so there was more shape to her body, but at least it was shiny.

The 3D image of her was ok, but maybe a little dark. She also didn’t seem that interested in whatever weird box I was showing her.

I use this as an example if you can guarantee 3 minutes with a celebrity, it really doesn’t take much to have the resulting image go from snapshot, to something that looks a lot more put together.
