pedro

The victim of one of the most famous TV death scenes, Pedro Pascal. Classic heartthrob looks, paired with talent and potentially the worlds softest hands.

Crazily, Pedro was one of my first shoots for the BBC. The first time that I had to work my way into Wogan House through a crowd of fans, autograph hunters and paparazzi. Yeah, I’ll admit it does make you feel a bit special when you get whisked inside through the craziness. Because it was only my second shoot for BBC I still wasn’t sure what to do or where the line was with talent of this size. So I just focused on on getting shots that were technically correct.

In focus. Lit.

Thats all that mattered. Looking back now I could have done more, but just to get in and out with the images was enough.

My main memory of this shoot is something that I now realise is weird, but wasn’t at the time. In the hallway that a lot of these portraits were shot in (The only place with daylight incase you were wondering why all these A list stars are standing around in a corridor) I found myself alone with Pedro.

Usually you’ll have a couple PRs milling around, maybe an assistant, a producer from the show, a couple hangers on. But there I was, totally alone with Pedro. Even he realised and remarked something along the lines of “It’s been a long time since I was alone with a photographer” as he smiled at me. We made chit chat about the situation, but being green I didn’t dare push my time and let him go. I should and could have probably got a few more set ups with him. But you have to learn somehow.

As I said at the start, I said he has the softest hands. After shaking them myself, you will have total it from me that he does indeed, have wonderfully soft hands.
