Suzanne was the first model who scared me.
She was tall, thin with an intense look and overall persona. I’m not even sure how experienced she was at this point, but I felt like a child around her.
She strolled into the studio and barely spoke before she got on set and started moving. I thinks he taught me a lot about just getting out of the way an letting the model work. I’m just there to press the button, and the best models do the rest with small tweaks along the way. I didn’t have much styling for her aside from a long black gown and a suit from Zara. She didn’t care. I just let her do her thing, this is probably where I first “danced” with a model. This is where I just let them move and do my best to keep them in frame with some semblance of focus. Boy did we dance.
We went outside at the end of the shoot and she decided to go down to a bra. My first time photographing a woman wearing so little. Again, I felt like a child, but did my best.
She left as fast as she arrived, and I never heard from her again.
Overall it’s a decent set of images considering its just two people in a room for 30 minutes. But most of that is her doing.
Thanks Suzanne, you scared me into being a better photographer.
